Here's another trailer for the Howard Hughes film "Hell's Angels". This one dates from the re-release of the film, possibly in the 1970s? The fun thing about this trailer is that it contains some rare newsreel footage from opening night at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood. What a event, with neon biplanes lining the street, and searchlights piercing the night sky. This film and others shown here were collected for the production of the documentary film "The Legend of Pancho Barnes and the Happy Bottom Riding Club", about aviation pioneer Florence "Pancho" Barnes. • "Aerial combat so real, it took the lives of two pilots."

Not a lot of movies get to brag like that these days. It's all done on computers.

  • the planes running together was real not acting

  • So...Let's see - Did all three pilots die in one accident? Or did one man die, then Howard said "the filming must go on". Then another man dies - "well, just the cost of producing such an epic film". Then another pilot dies and..."that's a shame, but it's worth since we've gone this far - thats a fatality rate amongst the pilots of less than 3% - acceptable". Maybe I'm too cynical - He was probably very concerned and took additional steps to ensure the safety of the surviving pilots.

  • @DrivingonSepulveda three pilots not two.

  • @modest80884

yeah that's depressing jackass and everyone knows. So?

  • @modest80884 Howard Hughes became addicted to codeine as a result of numerous plane crashes.

  • The spinning plane at the end contained the mechanic who was working smoke pots in fuselage and for some reason could not bail out with the pilot.

  • millionaire genius hahaha he was also addicted to morphine before he died

  • 20s best era
