ya see 'garret' back in the 70's when i was a child this was perfectly acceptable stuff - i grew up watching it.... now a days it would never pass censors - it would be called child porn probably - so sad
-
The ending is very sweet.

Why did she have a shower cap?

I love this episode, and have the old LP of the Swingle Singers singing this song. It was in my mind a lot, cheering me up, as a child, a teen and an adult. I wish you could hear the music with this classic clip!

Wow! I can't believe someone still had this floating around! This is one of my earliest and best memories of Sesame Street. It was such an age of innocence. Thanks for posting!

Loved this when I was four, and love it now !

I have been looking for this clip. I remember watching it in the 70's when I was a kid.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with this clip at all. Thank You for posting this clip mstatz.

@cstar88 The world hasn't changed, only our perception of it. Blame the media, they have made you terrified of things that have always been since the dawn of civilization.
-
I can only guess they reason why this clip was pulled was because it showed the kid's butt at the end.

Could someone please repost Mr. Raposo's Everybody Run, my 2 year old son and I miss it.

1 day in 77 I had just finished swimming lessons, & I was in the changeroom washing myself, & there was my bro beside me (he was fully clothed), singing this song at me. That SO embarrassed me!

That wasn't the reason! It was that Sesame Street didn't get the rights to the background music that was being played. It may have been slightly because of the brief nudity also. The "French kiss" comment was just silly and stupid!

OMG! That kid is naked! That's acceptable! What the crap!

What's the big deal? You can't see anything anyway!

Well, regardless of the reason it's still a classic and I had no idea it dated back to the first episode! Plus, the single episode of Sesame Street that I have from 1987 (Episode #2382 to be precise) has this segment along with several older ones including Baker #4.

That episode from 1987 with this segment may be the one that I recorded too. I got this version from the first episode video tape I got from ebay about 7 years ago.
