PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION!!

I absolutely love this anime. Hands down, one of the best I've seen in recent memory. Not to mention, it has an absolutely moving opening theme to kick-off this awe-inspiring series. So I decided to continue my fandubbing trend and give Aoi Shiori an English make-over. Sadly, there is no instrumental/off-vocal version of the song (at this moment, at least).

So pardon the background vocals, but I wanted to get this out there and here what yall think about my interpretation of the Japanese translation to English.

Lyrics:
Page after page I see a timeline,
and emotions and memories we've written down,
But now I've seem to hit a dead end.
I think this page will stay empty.
A bookmark, I have placed within my journal.
And now we take a ride on the bike we found out in the street.
Retreating to our secret place, where we had built all our memories to last,
We race through hills to reach a place where the horizon shines.
The sky, so blue, and fearfully shining bright.
The cider in my hands is starting to shake, and I know now, I must search for you.
In the days long before you found me,
you used to demand so much more of me.
I know, you're here with me, and you will stay here, by my side.
Yet I, I pray to God that one day we will meet again.
Though, I know you're gone.

Please rate, favorite, and subscribe!! Thanks for watching and look for more awesome and crazy videos in the future!

  • Very good voice, I liked it. However it doesn't say "Though I know you're gone" it says "there must be something wrong with me"

  • @ThePurbleKing You're right. The direct translation was "there must be something wrong with me"; however, I thought rephrasing that line could be a little confusing and I personally wasn't fond of how the song ended. Looking at the rest of the lyrics, that line really didn't seem to fit, so I went with something that I believe catered more to the actual story line of AnoHana.

  • @CrAzYbRoS it makes perfect sense when you look at the anime itself. It's the story of Jin-tan, Anaru and all the others of how they each demanded so much devotion, love, and support of each other that, even after Menma died and they were no longer friends, they still demanded the same as they did before. They know that they're together even when their not and regardless of the pain it brought, they still wish for the same outcome (which is why they think something must be wrong with them)

  • @CrystaBlade I can see where you're coming from, but I believe the conclusions you've come to about the characters emotions requires some imagination from the listener. Everything you've said isn't outright stated in the show, which requires inference. And when it comes to inferences, people's views vary greatly. I don't disagree with the meaning of the line, I just think the one I created flows nicer, works with the line before, and plays to a larger audience. It leaves nothing to infer.

  • you have a beautiful voice xDD

it's a bit deep for this song but it's beautiful xDDDDD

  • I'm not saying that you have a bad voice, but your tone doesn't fit the song at all. Your voice is very strong, but just a bit too strong in order to keep the same mood that the song originally provokes, or at least for me.

  • ten times better than the female dub. actually pretty decent. i couldnt do better than you myself, so hats off to ya bro.

  • Can you do a cover in Japanese?

  • @CrAzYbRoS Dude I almost peed when I heard this!! <3

  • love your voice :)

  • Don't listen to the haters, your voice is lovely.

  • @ThePurbleKing This is an interpretation, so he is adapting the lyrics, I think ''Though I know you're gone'' it's a good end for this cover, because, it fits more the sense of the lyrics.

It's like he was thinking of someone when he sing this song.
