Why add the risk to and from having a belayer in the mix? Just set up bomber anchors.

Anyone else who climbs, please reply if you know the answer......
Was there a belayer at the other end? If not, what was the other end of the rope fastened to? 'Cause if there was a belayer, it'd had to be a group with a Petzl grigri or some other auto locking belay because of the strain.

You said "surprisingly smooth."
Surprising means unexpected.
If you wouldn't expect it to be smooth, then how in any way is that a stupid question? How can you expect someone to know that if they don't rock climb?

@thetenzintsung why do people always ask that stupid question...do you see the rope jerk him at all? does he come to a sudden stop, NO it is suprisingly smooth. And besides you are so pumped from adrenalin and terrified you wouldn't notice even if it did jerk you.
