The AT&T Network Disaster Recovery team profiles some of the equipment used for public safety communications: A satellite COLT (cell tower on light truck) and an ECV (emergency communications vehicle), which provides voice circuits and LAN connectivity for first-responders.

  • Out of curiousity, is there a list anywhere that shows the NDRT deployments across the US? I'm just curious because I have never seen these near any disasters I have worked in the past across the Midwest.

  • @tjperkins88 Thank you for your interest! Since the program’s inception, the NDR team has been activated more than 20 times in response to disasters.

    Examples of recent NDR deployments: Hurricane Irene (2011), tornadoes in Alabama and Missouri (2011), oil spill along the Gulf Coast (2010), flooding in Nashville, Tennessee (2010), Hurricanes Gustav, Dolly and Ike (2008) and Hurricanes Katrina and Rita (2005).
