From my neutral view (i don't side with any of the Scandinavian languages). Perkele sounds scarier. Like their actually summoning the devil when they say it! Fean sounds too soft. It reminds me of the english word fawn, which then makes me think of cute baby deers.

Man, Finns have been using perkele (and other cuss words, I assume) in their television for a long time! Does perkele not carry the same weight as fuck, or do Finns just care less?

Good point. I prefer the shorter for emphasis though. However, that is likely due to my cultura background conditioning me to that understanding.
