Learn how crude oil becomes the fuel we use every day. Follow a barrel of oil as it makes its way from multi-billion dollar exploration and production projects to refineries and finally to your local gas station.

  • @hlfpsttomorrow93 Thanks for your comments - we appreciate hearing this!

  • WOW!! awesome information.

  • @nismoperformance Thanks for your comments - we appreciate hearing this!

  • I appreciate the video, but one wonders why you choose to highlight on this video the most expensive and difficult oil drilling (offshore) over the easy land drilling, its like your trying to justify high gas prices or something.

  • @Gutsyndicate Thank you for taking the time to watch the video and share your thoughts. Chevron has major operations of onshore production, like our facilities near Bakersfield, California, but as we pointed out in the video, most of the easy to find oil has already been produced. This requires companies like ours to develop new energy resources in increasingly challenging locations, like the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

  • Great Video & Very Interesting. Thanks for Posting this!

  • imagine if all that energy and money was put into developing electric cars

  • Buy an EV like the "Tesla Model S" & free yourself from oil Slavery forever.

  • iamgine if your busines or mine made 60 billion every damn 4 months thats exxon and chevron now do you feel we could bet at 2.25 a gallon ????a big old lol they still make 10 billino every 4 mos they suckwe need to demand 2.25 a gallon

  • I missed the part of the video explaining why the drivers who deliver fuel to stations work 12hr shifts with no lunch/no overtime/no retirement/no healthcare? maybe thats just a california thing?

  • This video makes it sound like Chevron is spending billions on charity work. There is profit in the 10,000 ft. deep water wells and arctic wells or Chevron wouldn't bother with it. Then the government hits the consumer for a huge percentage tax at the pump.

  • So called crude oil is a natural occurring energy source beneath the Earth. Its not from the remains of dinosaurs. Fact not fiction! And to all you oil hating global warming nut jobs. The Earth's climate is in constant change. Heavy industry and carbon emission do not case global warming! Antarctica as little as 900 A.D. had no glaciers or frozen land mass as it does to day. In fact Viking settlers were inhabiting Greenland in the late 900's before a change climate forced relocation. No SUV's.

  • @Mchangose I have not witnessed what you are saying, but they driven there by much lower labor cost, and much less regulation. This is the result of Free Trade Agreements. Most Americans oppose these Agreements because fear such problems which also take away what would be well paying jobs here. There is more but it would just much too explain on Youtube.

  • It may seem expensive, but have no fear fellow Americans! Chevron is more than happy to exploit developing countries and ruin their health and land just so we can save a few dollars. Just take a look at Venezuela and all damage Exon/Chevron has done there.

  • Thank you Chevron for doing the job Greenpeace refuses to do.
