Song from the Yemenite Diwan, written in the 17th Century by the poet Shalom Shabbazi. I learned it from the Ofra Haza video, definitely check it out!

Correction: "we-eth hadharathakha" is a mistake. The poem reads "wo-hodh hadharathakha". At the time I was a bit confused by the Yemenite vowels.

If you listen close when I draw out the notes, you can hear the natural overtones in my voice.

I Am that I Am (Hebrew: אֶהְיֶה אֲשֶׁר אֶהְיֶה‎, pronounced Ehyeh asher ehyeh [ʔehˈje ʔaˈʃer ʔehˈje]) is a common English translation (JPS among others) of the response God used in the Hebrew Bible when Moses asked for His name (Exodus 3:14). It is one of the most famous verses in the Torah. Hayah means "existed" or "was" in Hebrew; "ehyeh" is the first person singular imperfect form. Ehyeh asher ehyeh is generally interpreted to mean I am that I am, though it more literally translates as "I-shall-be that I-shall-be."

"The One who spoke, and the world IS... The One who spoke, and everything IS" - Jerusalem Targum

"When God appeared to our Teacher Moses, and commanded him to address the people and to bring them the message, Moses replied that he might first be asked to prove the existence of God in the Universe, and that only after doing so he would be able to announce to them that God had sent him. For all men, with few exceptions, were ignorant of the existence of God; their highest thoughts did not extend beyond the heavenly sphere, its forms or its influences. They could not yet emancipate themselves from sensation, and had not yet attained to any intellectual perfection. Then God taught Moses how to teach them, and how to establish amongst them the belief in the existence of Himself, namely, by saying Ehyeh asher Ehyeh, a name derived from the verb hayah in the sense of "existing," for the verb hayah denotes "to be," and in Hebrew no difference is made between the verbs "to be" and "to exist." The principal point in this phrase is that the same word which denotes "existence," is repeated as an attribute. The word asher, "that," corresponds to the Arabic illadi and illati, and is an incomplete noun that must be completed by another noun; it may be considered as the subject of the predicate which follows. The first noun which is to be described is ehyeh; the second, by which the first is described, is likewise ehyeh, the identical word, as if to show that the object which is to be described and the attribute by which it is described are in this case necessarily identical. This is, therefore, the expression of the idea that God exists, but not in the ordinary sense of the term; or, in other words, He is "the existing Being which is the existing Being," that is to say, the Being whose existence is absolute. The proof which he was to give consisted in demonstrating that there is a Being of absolute existence, that has never been and never will be without existence." - Maimonides (Guide For The Perplexed)

I am that I am.7 The Holy One, blessed be He, said to Moses: Go and say to Israel: I was with you in this servitude, and I shall be with you in the servitude of the [other] kingdoms.8 He said to Him: Lord of the Universe, sufficient is the evil in the time thereof! Thereupon the Holy One, blessed be He, said to him: Go and tell them: I AM has sent me unto you.9
Hear me, O Lord, hear me.10 R. Abbahu said: Why did Elijah say twice: 'Hear me'? This teaches that Elijah said before the Holy One, blessed be He: Lord of the Universe, 'hear me', that the fire may descend from heaven and consume everything that is upon the altar; and 'hear me', that Thou mayest turn their mind that they may not say that it was the work of sorcery. For it is said: For Thou didst turn their heart backward.11(Talmud Bavli Berakhoth 9b)

  • @ raphaelyaakov Thanks for uploading. But could you tell where you got that font from. I can't find it anywhere. I'm sure most people don't get why I ask. But you know it is a special font.

  • @RIVE2006 It's from DavkaWriter, called, "Stam", since it is the Ashurite script as in a Torah scroll.

  • Does anyone have the original Ofra Haza video on youtube? It has been removed, but I really need it! it is so beautiful, her voice, her face, the other jolly fellows. A good energy song!

  • @Tricolino Yes! It was removed but it has been reposted under the username Ofrachai. My sentiments exactly on the power of that video! The first time I saw it, I knew I had to learn it.

  • Brother, I have come from the Yahuists to accept Ehye Asher Ehye, but now I am seeking the name of the son. Do you know it? I was using Yah-u-shua or Yah-shua, but if Yah is wrong (could be Satan), then what is the son's name? Thank you.

  • @PHANTOMSLAYER777 I would perhaps suggest that you check out my video series I recently started on "Foundations of the Torah".

  • @everyone, dont believe everything you read on the internet. lol

  • pfft jesus is is name bro

  • @arcjahad The Jewish people gave you YHWH. They are the synagogue of Satan according to Revelation 2:9. They are Esau's remnant, not Jacob's. AHAYAH is I AM in the original Hebrew, not the Yiddish that those fake Jews use. In order to be a Jew, you must be from the seed of Judah. Can't become a Jew by religion. Hence why they call it Jewish. They wish they were Jews lol.

  • @royalsteven His name is AHAYAH ASHAR AHAYAH. His Son's name is Yashayah. Ehyeh is a Yiddish dialect of I AM. The Jewish people in Israel don't teach truth though. They are the synagogue of Satan according to Rev 2:9. They switched the name of the most High in a lot of places within the English translations.

  • Christ name is Yashiyah and for the Most High his name is Ahayah. I AM translates to Ahayah. Ehyeh is impossible since there are no vowels in Henrew except for I

  • Let me ask you something, or anyone that knows. I have come to learn that Jesus real name was Yehoshua or short Yeshua. Then I heard some say it is spelled with an A like Yahoshua or Yashua. Mostly by the sacred name movement. But I heard from experts that there is no A prenouncement in Hebrew. And that the Israëlites changed God's name from EHYEH (I AM) to AHYAH (I WILL BE) because I AM sounded too unsure. So is it spelled EHYEH ASHER OR AHYAH ASHER or both is right? Thanks.

  • @PHANTOMSLAYER777 Hosea 3:16 says Ish'i

  • @arcjahad The original Hebrew did not have vowels.

  • Beautiful song but if you read a little further in Exodus 3 :15-16 you will see the actual name of our creator revealed I know your bible will say LORD but it should but written as YHWH which is YaHuWaH and the messiah true name is Yahushua research and this truth will be revealed to you

  • Beautiful melody, infinite lyrics.
