doe run bought the plant in 1975, before that the plant still ran with 10 times the pollution levels, the imbicilles who made this fail to realise this. the pollution trapped in the walls. and renco paid 400 million dollars to clean the streets. renco was la oroyas biggest freind. doe run pays the employees more than 10 timest the average wage in peru! they fund schools for the sick, the contribute more to the economy of peru than enything else ever has!
this video was bias and entirely false, ira stated in 2007 "we will NOT clean up other peoples mess". ant in 1999 "la oroya is full of many oppotunitys, and the media only will only focus the bad aspecta of life in the area". worse off towns are worse off and still populated such as : linfen, china sukinda, india fabwe, zambia dzerzhinsk, russia vapi, india tianying, china norilsk, russia and after all than the media focuses on kind companies like renco...
between 1993/96 i worked as security a gaurd at the herculaneum mo. smelter!! i heard they bought the plant in la oroya! they had the same problems in mo. till the e.p.a. came down on there ass!! bless the pepole of peru doe run get your head out of your ass!!!
As an American child of a mining engineer I spend many years living in La Oroya. I went to the Mayupampa school from 1965 until we moved to Cobriza in 1970. I remember playing soccer on the soccer field and all of our lungs burning from the sulpher dioxide. Get me a location of this human piece of shit and I guarantee him dead so fast he and his ilk will never know what hit him. So many of our lives were effected by people like this. It is way past due for a payback!!!!!!!
