Hi Jeremy, I was wondering what is the best quality movies can come in? I'd love to begin a collection but don't want any sub-par medium. What do you use for your 4K projector? Thanks

4K Commercial Sources include DCI CInema Masters played back through SONY LMT-300 Cinema Media Server (this is the same as is in AMC & Regal Theaters). I also shoot my own stills, movies, and 3D at 4K & 8K; played back via 5 Macbook Pros (1 Controller, 4-slaves). FInally, there is the wealth of 1080P sources, such as Blu-Ray, Cable, Satellite, Netflix, Vudu, YouTube, and these can be scaled using a broadcast scaler, like my Snell & Wilcox Interpolator 3, or the Terranax Scaler to look SUPER!

Hello Jeremy.I really like system and your passion to get the best movie and music experience.

But I just have few questions:Is that screen better than the highly praised black diamond screen?

Second; do you have a vibrating system installed in the chairs for added effect and if so,what was the experience?

Third;can you hear a difference between analog and digital and if so,which do you prefer ?

Fourth;I thought 4k sources where extremely rare and is it worth to upscale 1080p or plain DVD?

    Hi toydigger,

I am honored by your kind words. Briefly:

    1) The Stewart Snomatte 1.0 Gain Laboratory Grade Screen is THE industry standard for ultimate picture quality using film or video based front projection systems. Here is my review of the consumer version of that exact same screen material:

    2) Because my Kipnis Studios Standard (KSS)™ - TRINITY Ultimate Home Theater is also a laboratory where I test and review AV technologies from around the world, I have had most of the serious motion controls systems, here for evaluation. They CAN make a significant difference in the immersive experience that I create and which I call The MIRAGE Effect™. But it is secondary to getting the best possible picture and sound quality, which entails building a dedicated theater w/ non-parallel surfaces!

    3) Obviously, in a $6 Million Ultimate Media Room, you had better be able to hear the difference between an analog source and a digital one. In fact, as a recording producer & engineer, it is an endless source of pride to be able to produce RED BOOK CDs that mimic the sound of great analog; producing highly detailed, 3-dimentional sound-staging with wide dynamic range and no hint of digititis!

My KSS™ Standard requires separate 800 Ampere analog and digital power supplies (or generators)!

I think playing a Snell THX Reference system with analog audio sources like an ELP LT has the best sound experience ever :)

für mich ist das ein spinner, der den kompletten bezug zum normalen standard verloren hat. er hätte aus dem raum so ein schönes kino machen können, aber nein; warum muss der da seinen vorphoton-verstärker platzieren??? begreif ich einfach nicht

Snell THX Reference system is the finest in the world though, and having extra seats available for more people wont change the fact that your cinema doesnt have perfect sound quality that can match the unrivalled-sounding ultimate Snell THX Reference

I suppose everyone has their passion, it's just unfortunate that yours is you. By the way, I have a friend with a steller set up in the Bay area and he actually has several rows of very comfortable seating to actually entertain. You having a single circular couch provides some info on the size of your friend base.

Snell THX Reference towers are designed to perform perfectly from the distance he has set up and calibrated his system. $6 million would not be spent if he wasn't getting flawless audio quality and the best possible experience from his greatest surround system the Snell THX Reference 12.12

Snell THX Reference towers (the best speakers in the world) can flawlessly reproduce frequencies up to 100khz down to sub 1hz, which if not heard can DEFINTELY be felt, which is part of what makes this the greatest audio/video experience on earth with a 150dB @ 0% THD perfect sounding Snell THX Reference system
