New Jersey's last freestanding World War II Lookout Tower has recently been restored by Cape May's Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC). The Tower pays tribute to the men and women who bravely served in the armed forces. Hear World War II veteran, Gordan Bierman share his wartime experiences in this video. Local WWII veterans are on hand at the WWII Lookout Tower every Saturday and Sunday this summer. The Tower is located on Sunset Boulevard in Lower Township near Cape May Point and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Sept. 9. After the award-winning restoration, visitors can climb to the 6th floor spotting gallery while reliving the homeland defense efforts during World War II. The ground floor of the tower is fully accessible.
