@KHayes666 At one point during a practice in the playoffs Fitch and M.L. Carr were throwing basketballs at each others head.

The major reason for the sweep besides Bird's sickness and injuries was that Maxwell, Carr, Archibald and McHale revolted against coach Fitch. There were times in the series where Fitch yelled for them to speed the ball up the court and they purposefully slowed it down. It was talked about in the Bird/Magic book.

I remember that year..the sixers had gotten Moses Malone...no body wanted to play the sixers in the playoffs..celtics were smart...The lakers got swept in the nba finals by the sixers that year....bird nor magic had an answer for the combination of moses malone and Dr. J...the was the greatest team of the era...they just weren't media darling like bird and magic...
