In 1979, artist Kit Williams turned Britain into a giant treasure map, promising a golden hare, buried in the earth, to the first person who solved the riddle of his book Masquerade. The hysteria that followed the hunt drove Williams underground, where he has continued to create complex and beautiful art, which he refuses to publicly exhibit.
In his first interview in two decades, Kit lifts the lid on life before and after Masquerade. Did the hare deprive us of one of our most gifted painters?

He's ultra, ultra talented - and a one-off. Having taught art in schools for years, it's quite easy to spot 'one-off' talents. They have an individual and untutored way of looking at the visual world and translating it - with style and vision. The rest of the art world is generally made up of the trendy/cool, or hacks of various sorts. Each approach requires its own talent.

I am related to kit, he is my nan's cousin so i don't know what that makes me.
I have been into kits studio and seen many things made by Kit.
He really should be an idol to anyone!!!

Can't wait to see this documentary~ I've met Kit a couple of times and he's a lovely man, and an amazing artist.
