Irena Salina's award-winning documentary investigation into what experts label the most important political and environmental issue of the 21st Century - The World Water Crisis.

Salina builds a case against the growing privatization of the world's dwindling fresh water supply with an unflinching focus on politics, pollution, human rights, and the emergence of a domineering world water cartel.

Interviews with scientists and activists intelligently reveal the rapidly building crisis, at both the global and human scale, and the film introduces many of the governmental and corporate culprits behind the water grab, while begging the question "CAN ANYONE REALLY OWN WATER?"

Beyond identifying the problem, FLOW also gives viewers a look at the people and institutions providing practical solutions to the water crisis and those developing new technologies, which are fast becoming blueprints for a successful global and economic turnaround.

On December 10th, 2008 FLOW was invited to screen at the United Nations as part of the 60th Anniversary of the Declaration of Human Rights.

  • People who don't understand the seriousness of the issue and label it as propaganda are simply too lazy or stupid to look up information. Only 3% of the planet's water is fresh water and suitable for human use. If you drink water from the ocean you'll be dehydrated. There's increasing stress on decreased fresh water. Educate yourself before you make a stupid statement. I've lived in places where a typhoon ruined the city's reservoir, and people could only use water for 3~4 hrs a week.

  • Awesome. Added to my wish list.

  • Water is a $425 Biliom a year industry. "THis market is immoral and is going to lead you to sell the water tho those who can buy it and not to those who need it. How did a handful of corporations steal our water? The world is running out of fresh water." " Who owns water owns your survival . And that's the picture people have to understand." " It's not a democratic issue and it's not a republican issue. It's a people issue." This is a MUST SEE documentary.

  • There actually two major US cities that has been using a publicly owned and managed close-loop water supply system that taps their primary sewage directly and treats it to recharge their underground water supply. And they have been doing it since the 1960s! Ever since that time technology has advanced to the stage that a significant number of households has a close-loop water system, which means "toilet to tap" system(s) that has been in used since the late 70s and early 80s.

  • @captwasabi - I suggest that you do your research.

  • This is hystercial. The world is more tan 70% water and yet we're running out of it? Let's call this movie what it really is, a pathetic and desperate liberal attempt to smear capitalism and convince people the socialistic government control of our lives is preferrable. Of course, the liberals would be the one's at the helm.

  • Yea this movies is BS Propaganda

you want to see a better one about are water watch "BLUE GOLD WATER WARS"

  • The world has had roughly the same amount of water for about 8 million years. The world is not lousing water, the water we use just goes into the oceans and becomes salt water.

Solution: Along the coasts, build plants that purify ocean water. Makes new jobs, is cheaper then importing water.

When they tell you the world is running out of water, they are being stupid. If you believe it, you are stupid.

  • Saw this film the other week, well worth a watch!
