A Family Affair

The kids start school. The Clunes enjoy the time that they spend together. To celebrate the railroad crossing the country, the teacher gives the kids oranges. "Granny" (Karen's mom) visits for Logan's birthday. The kids entertain everyone at the end of school.

@urkelette That is reality. Better to kill it yourself than buy it neatly wrapped in plastic from a supermarket shelf, at least then people appreciate and respect their food and where it comes from. I doubt a vegetarian would have lasted long on the frontier back in the 1880s.

@starpunk77 I also think he looks a lot like President Obama for some reason... Whether or not you agree with his job in office so far, the man is attractive. But Nate's much more attractive and sensitive and kind-hearted to boot. Kristen is lucky and I hope they are having a wonderful, prosperous life together.

I agree....she's lousy at comforting her child...it was a wonderful opportunity to bond, to talk about the incident. Shushing a child when he's visibly upset isn't comforting him.

I was wondering about the wild animals...bears, wolfs, cougars. That would have been a huge threat back then...not just to your own safety but also your livestock.
