I'm curious...as to what people with agoraphobia do for money. I don't understand how they support themselves. Can they apply for a "disability" cheque? Or...?

@Siliven I'm currently on SSI(disabiility). It's based off my husbands earnings. I can get anywhere from nothing-674 a month. Also, I babysit and tried selling Mary Kay as well.

Agoraphobia isn't a disease. Stop treating it like one. It's just a emotional disorder, which is far less severe than a actual mental or physical one, so get over it.

@depressedturtle Agoraphobia is not just an "emotional disorder". Depression, Anxiety, and Panic Attacks all come with this disease to some degree. It physically, emotionally, and mentally attacks you. Get your facts straight before you comment and look like an idiot.

@depressedturtle You may have less then half a brain. This is nothing Small, it's very severe. This ruins peoples Lifes. Including mine. No one, Including yourself will understand how hard it is to cope with this. It may not be a disease but you wanna know what? It is a fucking scary thing. And people like you do not help at all. I know how you feel girl, I've been suffering with agoraphobia, panic disorder, and PTSD for my whole life. Maybe you can find a therapist, that really helped me. I can go pretty much wherever I want to now. Don't stop fighting. Don't stop praying. Your strong.

I suffer from the same thing i don't leave the house and people don't understand they think you can just go out and i can't i cry because i get that bad if there's more then 6 people in a room i panic like crazy it depresses you as your stuck in a house all the time and you want to go out and you can't and my family makes it worse they don't understand i can't go to family parties and stuff i sweat and get the shakes and feel sick and i just feel like im going to die.

waw you sound like me in every way.( the weed depressed everything. ive had Agoraphobia for over 10 years and bad social anxiety disorder all my life.but with no help from no one. carn`t even go to the doc`s or even talk to my mum about it.i just stay in my room and speek to no one.everyone i no thinks im a selfish lowner.but im dying inside.but not got the balls to end it myself. or to seek help.
