@BritAU2TH I agree, this was a step way too far by Unilever they crossed a line that shouldn't be crossed as they are using mass media to influence the outcome an election.

I stopped eating this product after they made a mockery of male domestic violence victims. Marmite are as tacky as their product when it comes to cheap publicity gimmicks. They remind me of the united colours of benetton using a photo of a man dying from aids to garner publicity for themselves.
This kind of thing hardens the resolve of BNP members and I believe unwittingly encourages more people to show an interest in the party & maybe join up. But then perhaps that's what Unilever wants.

I think it was very foolish of BNP to use the Marmite brand in their video and invite legal action, but clearly this ad campaign could not go unchallenged.
BNP has raised complaints with the Advertising Standards Authority and the broadcasting regulator, Ofcom.

BNP's response to these blatantly anti-BNP adverts was to put the Marmite product image in their 2010 party broadcast on their website to give the impression Marmite was sponsoring the BNP. Marmite responded to this by gaining an injunction preventing BNP using the product image and threatening further legal action. BNP's Nick Griffin responded to Unilever (the owner of the Marmite brand) by saying if they persisted, BNP would make all BNP spokespersons have a jar of Marmite with them on TV!

BNP all the way!

Im a labour supporter and i thought this was disgraceful. Big business has far too much influence on the political system as it is without denouncing political parties on TV.
There was nothing subliminal you're looking for hate so you found it.

Nothing. But this is still a democracy (just about) and huge multinationals should not be making adverts attacking political parties. I'm you sure you would be upset with Tampax if they started attacking your beloved Communist Party or whoever you vote for.
