  • @cambigfoot88 It is about six feet wide. The roof support beams are 8 feet long and have one foot resting on either side on supports. I did not want to make the shelter any wider and use long roof supports for fear they would not be strong enough to support the load above. And when I'm down there I like to sing "We All Live in an Earthen Submarine"

  • @stormking14 I built the shelter about four years ago. Thanks for you interest.

  • When anybody preaches disunity and tries to pit one of us against the other, through class warfare, race hatred, religious intolerance, you know that person seeks to rob us of our freedom and destroy our very lives.

Working together to produce an ever greater source of material and spiritual value for all, that is the secret of American prosperity.

  • @gubyop i have a ww2 bomb shelter in my backyard, it keeps filling up with water. what kind of sump pump do i need to keep it empty?

  • @dnl5649 I do not have any issues with flooding. I would recommend you use a submersible pump connected to a GFCI outlet above the water line. It is very important to protect yourself from electrical shock. Electricity doesn't care who you are, if you are rich or poor, white or black, if it has the chance, electricity will kill you. Your pump needs to be able to pump from the bottom of the shelter out the surface.

  • @dnl5649 If the bottom of the shelter is 20 feet down for example, you need a pump with a 20 foot head height. Make sure you have enough hose to keep the pumped out water away and not let it drain back in. Do you know where the water is coming from?

Depends on the galvanized steel and paint, some won't rust significantly over 20 years.

  • so where does the weed grow in case you cant go out to buy more?

  • COOL BUT NOT BIG ANOUGH TO FIT 16 PEOPLE.

  • why has no one yet thought of using solar panels as your electicity source? I mean I know there not cheap, but the goverment if you send in the paper work gives you all the money back!

  • are the walls and floor just dirt or did you seal them at all? and as for the supports did you treat them so they wont rot and if so how?
