First stop on the May 9, 2009 "Lost Cemeteries of Hudson County" bus tour sponsored by the Hudson County Genealogical Society in association with the Jersey City Landmarks Conservancy. The Hudson County Burial Ground was once on the grounds of the Laurel Hill Asylum, also known as "Snake Hill". Little remains today after the NJ Turnpike plowed though the area.
