UNC Chapel Hill -The Sonja Haynes Stone Center for the Black Culture and History and the Office of the Executive Director for the Arts, the Department of Music, Intitute of Latin American Studies, Latina/o Studies and the National Endowment for the Arts that supports the Puerto Rican musical project of "Los Pleneros de la 21" and the Asoc. de Puertorriqueños Unidos de Carolina del Norte made possible the event "Los Pleneros de la 21"

On this video you'll see part of the workshop in which part of the members of the group shared the importance of the bomba and plena music for Puerto Ricans and their roots based on the African Culture.
