Heartbeat [A Jemi Story] Chapter 38

Hey y'all...sorry only one episode for now so no marathon for a few hours. I had to get minor surgery and I'm on pain medication right now and i've got stitches so i'm in a lot of pain and the medication is making me so tired so i'm going to nap and hopefully write more. i wanted this episode to turn out better because the first time I wrote it was before I wrote the last few episodes and it was my all time favorite episode but then I had to change some stuff to make sure it made more sense and now I don't like it as much but I still hope y'all like it and it brings up questions! (:

[at the hospital]
(JOE'S POV)
I ran inside the emergency room with Demi and the paramedics. They pushed me away to the side of the room. I put my hands to my head.
Doctor: Qu'est-ce qui s'est passé?
Joe: I don't..I can't speak French!
Doctor: My apologies sir, what happened?
Joe: I woke up...I thought sh--she was fine...then I--I don't know...sh--she..*kneels down on the ground, crying*
Doctor: *goes back to pull out the shockers [A/N: not sure if that's what those are called; the plates or wtv]*
Joe: *puts his head in his hands as he hears a long beep coming from her monitor* No! No! God, no!

(Demi's POV)

There was a sharp pain in my chest...then nothing. I could hear Joe's screaming and pleading...then nothing. I gasped for air...hoping to see Joe's face but was instead greeted by the sun beaming down upon my face. I sat up and looked around me, I was in a garden. It was so magnificent and I'd never seen anything like it so I got up to explore. Where was I? Was this heaven? I turned around to see a little girl in a white dress with a small rose in her beautiful wavy black hair. She looked to be about 4. I looked down at myself and realized I was in a white dress too. She looked lost and strangely like me. Was this my younger self? She ran to me with a huge grin spreading across her pale face.

Little girl: Mommy! Mommy! *runs into Demi's arms*
Demi: Oh hunny I'm not your mommy, can you tell me where we are?
Little girl: You aren't? *her grin falls* We're in a place called Heaven.
Demi: *tears fill her eyes*Joseph.
Little girl: You mean my daddy?
Demi: What?!
Little girl: My daddy's name is Joseph. What's your name?
Demi: Demetria, Demi for short. What's yours?
Little girl: You ARE my mommy! I'm Rose. *she smiles again her eyes dancing across Demi's face*
Demi: Rose, I don't have a daughter.
Rose: Yes you do. Me. You're my mommy and my Daddy is Joseph.
Demi: I'm sorry kiddo, I don't know what you're talking about.
Rose: Well, Mommy you and Daddy fell in love and you made me but your new heart didn't adjust to your body so God brought us here, to be safe. I
was only a month old in your belly but God said he had me all planned out.
Demi: *in shock* You're a smart little girl, Rose.
Rose: We have to go now Mommy.
Demi: Where are we going?
Rose: *laughs like it's the most obvious thing in the world* To see Daddy!
Demi: *worried* What happened to Daddy?
Rose: Nothing! Come on, let's go!

I took off with...my daughter...how weird did that sound...I could have sworn I wasn't pregnant...impossible...the tests...could they have been wrong? We went running into the woods but every thing in front of us turned white and soon it was like we were running through the clouds. Then I could feel myself running out of breath. Breath? How could I have breath if I was dead? That's when everything went black.
