PLEASE READ:

"Oh, Hello" is one of my favorite Circa Survive songs (if not THE favorite). The great thing about Juturna (2005) is that Brendan and Colin's guitar parts are panned completely to the left and right, respectively, on every track, which makes it much easier to sort out the individual parts. I do use tabs to get a start on how to play a song but it ultimately comes down to learning by ear AND watching any live performances of the song, because some of tabs are just freakin' bogus.

Tuning is Eb Ab Gb Db Bb Eb (i.e. a half-step down from standard tuning).
Brendan Ekstrom's parts on the left and Colin Frangicetto's are on the right.

The only pedal I used here is my trusty Boss ME-25 multi-effects.

All of my covers on YouTube up to this point have been drum covers (with the exception of the crappy "Welcome Home" bass cover from years ago that gets both praised and railed for its accuracy ٩๏̯͡๏)۶...); however, I've actually been playing guitar for significantly longer. I thought I'd take a crack at doing one of these videos for once.

  • FUCK YES. finally somebody who knows how to play that shit correctly and both parts. i need to start posting more shit. what pedals/ gear do you have?

  • @ehwilson i appreciate that; i actually go with a fairly simple setup...dunlop crybaby wah, boss sd-1 overdrive, boss ds-1 distortion, and the boss me-25, which is the only pedal that i actually use here for delay and overdrive (it's a great multi-effects pedal; the only downside is that it requires some pre-programming and not very ideal for adding effects on the fly)

  • YUM! GOOD JOB

  • nicely done, dlt, nicely done. i love the complementary colors on the shirts.

  • Yeah man, I really like that about Juturna as well. It's kind of gave a whole new feel to the songs in general after I started focusing on individual guitar parts as opposed to just whatever's the main rift going on at the time. Idk, I just felt like I could appreciate the it more, having focused on the separate parts. It added a new depth to it. I suppose other people may have picked up on that right away, but it took me a while.lol

    Your cover is excellent btw.
