how do you merge subtools using 3.1?
You can merge them by clicking on Merge Visible in the Subtool Palette. That will allow you to sculpt across them and then you can use Polygroups to separate them again.

@Rockysbeats
When this was made there was no Merge Visible with Weld in the Subtool palette. Have you tried using that instead of the trick. Also make sure that the vert points are exactly the same on both Subtools.

@Rockysbeats
Vert points are Vertex points. Every poly face has vertex points. Just make sure that if there are 30 vertex points on one of the subtools that the other subtools need to have 30 vertex points in order for the merge to work.

You could always only export one subtool. Are you just trying to merge the subtools? you can do this with Merge Visible under Subtool Palette to export all the subtools.
