I'm a Lanza fan, but this is not close to Pavarotti, Bjorling, Gigli or DiStefano in this aria. For Lanza at his best in operatic material, try his early live recordings from 47, 48 and 49, his RCA recordings of "Che gelida manina," "O tu che seno agli angeli" and "Recondita armonia" and his later Otello duet with Licia Albanese. For Lanza at his absolute best, where operatic snobbery need not rear its head, try his Neapolitan canzone.
