  • No, the suggested number was 1, the bullet was in 1.

  • No, there's no way he would of even carried on if he had even an ounce of doubt in his own belief of where the bullet was.

He did that to make it more tense and to dramatise the piece, amazing performance.

  • My GOD!! Here I am watching this from years later on YouTube, knowing full well that Derren's alright--and I still was in terrible suspense. Holy--! I can just about breathe out now.

  • I GOT IT.

The subliminal order to use the cylinder 1 was given as follow.

From 3:38 to 3:45 Derren pronounces "ONE" for three times. Then, at 3:52 the sound "ONE" is reproduced by using the verb WANT).

At 4:14 and 4:16, Derren double checks that James followed the order: ...double check that it is going in the correct chamber, the ONE you... the correct ONE...

  • @ShamboDiver No, he put it in chamber 3. No one used cylinder 1 during the training session. Vitino is probably spot on though; the point of the whole selection procedure was to find someone easily suggestible and submissive - the perfect puppet.

  • derren sounds shit scared!!! lol

  • WHY WAS THAT SO INTENSE?! I know he's alive and well to thid day, and that this was back in 03, yet I think I've never felt anything more intense :S

  • widebody won't be happy until he's on stage and gets duped, at which point everyone will claim he's just an accomplice.

  • @vitino1602 Also, James had to put a round in the cylinder number ONE on their first firearms training session.

  • The 'assistant' was, of course, actually an accomplice that pre-arranged which chamber to use. The round was also a blank as the Jersey police (where it was filmed) wouldn't allow live rounds to be used.

    Great show though.

  • 8:40. Wonder what was going through Derren's head. Something along the lines of "Damn wrong chamber FML"
