Crap, excuse the typo in the intro.

This was my first time out shooting using a home-made shoulder-mounted camera rig for my Canon VIXIA HG20. I obtained the plans from this video: http://youtu.be/sa7eeZgqRas and modified the configuration to better suit my needs. I used all the exact same parts, just rearranged them a bit.

So, here are some things to keep in mind when viewing this video. First of all, this is the first time I used this type of setup, so it is a bit bumpy. Second, I was freezing my rear end off standing out there shooting. Through each video I was shivering. Third, there was a good 10kt wind to deal with as well. Fourth, for a couple of the shots, (the touch and goes specifically) I did not have good foot placement, as I thought the jets were going to stay on the ground. Both times you can see the camera jerk a bit as I move my feet to pan all the way to the end.

Anyway, I realize this setup is never going to be PERFECT, at least, the way I have it in my mind considering the equipment I'm using, but it is an exponential improvement over my previous setup! With practice, I think this will work out great.

I will make a video showcasing my rig configuration at a later time.
