Meatworks is a Musical set in a New Zealand Freezing Works, Meatworks was first performed at the Sky City Theatre in Auckland in 2000. Created, written and produced by Joselyn Morton. Music composed and arranged by Stephen Small, directed by award winning director Roger Morton. Full of energy and optimism, funny, and touching, Meatworks is a rock musical with loads of songs to remember. The English owner Lord Zesty arrives to close down the meatworks. Animal Rights Activists arrive to cause havoc. The workers use their redundancy and buy the works, the Halal butcher saves the day. There are love stories, moral issues of right and wrong, choice and change. This is a musical with a distinctive Kiwi flavour that could perform in any country around the world.
