Because Jesus Christ is that fantastic!

He's our King of Righteousness, King of Heaven, King of Glory, He's our King of Kings and Lord of Lords. That's our King. He's the greatest phenomenon that has ever cross the horizon of this world. He's God's Son. He's the sinners Saviour. He's the centerpiece of civilization. He's unparalleled. He's unprecedented. He's indescribable. He's incomprehensible. Death couldn't handle Him and the grave couldn't hold Him! Do you know Him? We do!

  • I wish Joel Osteen would listen to this... So that he may repent and turn all of the Muslims, Hindus, Atheists etc that sit in his congregation to repentance and to Jesus Christ...

Did Jesus die for the sin of unbelief? If so, then everybody would be saved. Everybody who had ever lived and died prior to the cross would be in Heaven. If Christ died for unbelief, then salvation would be universal to all mankind. Do you believe that? Hell seems to already be inhabited, and the scriptures seem to indicate more will go there then go to Heaven. Christ died and actually took away the sin and secured salvation for those whom the Father had given Him. John 17 is clear.

You know the point we're considering, monergism, and the point is physical death and the realities of that state. And did you participate in your physical birth? What part did your play? What did you contribute?

  • @lessingtom

They don't have to. They have a prior lifetime of it.

  • @DPMosteller

You are making exactly the very same mistake Nicodemus made and that is to equate the new birth in Christ with physical birth. No wonder you also compare spiritual death with physical death, like all the other Calvinists. That's preposterous.

Dead men cannot hear? The twice dead man in hell could hear Abraham perfectly well. He even had a very intelligent conversation with him.

  • @DPMosteller

Correct! His success was not measured by his blood that was not wasted upon the elect but by his absolute obedience to his Father. The entire nation of Israel is the elect of God (Rom 11:28) and yet most of them are lost (Mat 8:11, 12). Why? because Jesus did not want to waste his blood on them and therefore never shed it for them on the cross? NO! Because of their unbelief. (Joh 16:9). Was Jesus a liar, when He said: "Of sin, because they BELIEVE NOT on me?"

  • @DPMosteller

And neither can dead men sin and show any hatred or animosity toward God.

The Servant. At His first coming He met with rejection by His nation. It may have appeared that His mission was a complete failure because of the suffering and rejection He endured. The last two Servant-songs also emphasize the Servant’s suffering 50:4–11,52:13,53:12. But, though rejected by men, the Servant expresses His strong assurance that He is doing God’s work and will be rewarded with complete success. He comforts himself under this discouragement with this consideration.

The first thing a dead man needs is NOT to believe in something, like blood. What he needs is LIFE! A dead man cannot respond to God without life, and a new heart for God. Dead men cannot hear, or see, or respond. What did you have to do with your physical birth? That's why Jesus used that analogy. How did He answer the question from Nicodemus on how he could be born again? Nicodemus, it's a work of the Holy Spirit. Christ actually saves. He does not simply offer men an opportunity.

Could you tell me who said these words and why? "But I said, “I have labored in vain; I have spent my strength for nothing and vanity; yet surely my right is with the Lord, and my recompense with my God.” Is 49:4)
