Amazingly, I found out about this before I'd even heard of "The Rest is Noise," though whoever told me about it had probably uncovered it through Ross's book. It's pretty hilarious—and my favorite music is usually the most serious! I'd love to hear it played live.
Now, however, playtime is over. I have to go drink five pints of brandy-wine and conduct "Steuermann, Lass die Wacht." *hic*

Brilliant! I love Hindemith but I didn't think he could be this funny. Like a lot of people, I first read about this piece in The Rest is Noise, but after listening to it I now have no compunction about buying the piece.

Truly the: "Dying Flutchman" as scraped by a Strung Queertit. What a gorgeous composer he was and with a wicked sense of humor and fun. The sideslips and quotations are killing. Thanks for sharing.
