In a light-hearted romantic comedy, Gina and Seth are best friends yet they have never met. Pen pals since they were kids, the only thing they haven't shared with each other are their photographs. When they finally exchange them, the equally shy scribes send each other pictures of their friends. Gina sends photos of her pretty, outgoing friend Ellen and Seth sends pictures of Matt, his confident, girl-magnet best friend. Now all grown up, Gina writes for a Boston newspaper and Seth is a promising young executive at a major toy company.

When Gina gets an assignment from her boss to cover the upcoming toymakers convention, Gina is thrown into panic - she knows Seth works for a toy manufacturer and that for sure he will be at the convention. To make matters worse, Seth sends her an e-mail suggesting the unthinkable, a meeting! After all this time, expectations become too much to bear and the two get cold feet, each convincing their friends to go in their places. Suddenly, the four friends find them selves on a wild ride of mistake identities and when Ellen and Matt start to fall for each other, everything starts to fall apart.

It's going to take a little magic to help true love come to light!

At the dvd version in the Netherlands it also sais Instant Message, but on IMDb it is indeed Christmas in Boston. It's just like that Reese Witherspoon/Vince Vaughn movie called Four Christmases that is called Anywhere but home in the Netherlands... Why do they do that actually?
