On 22/09/09, Darren had his head shaved to raise money for Myeloma UK, the only organisation dealing exclusively with Myeloma and its related disorders.
Donations can be made via www.justgiving.com/darrenmorrissey for the next couple of months.

Myeloma is an increasingly common cancer of plasma cells which are found in the bone marrow and are responsible for protecting the body against infection.
There is currently no cure for myeloma, but treatment can halt it's progress and improve quality of life.
Complications of myeloma include severe bone pain, bone fractures, fatigue, frequentinfection and kidney failure.
Each year in the UK, nearly 4000 people are diagnosed with myeloma.
Myeloma is the second most common type of blood cancer but represents only 1% of all cancers.
Approximately 80% of patients are over the age of 65.
The number of cases of myeloma has more than doubled in the last 30 years.
The causes of myeloma are uncertain but are thought to include exposure to petroleum-based products and some pesticides.
Only 3 treatments have been specifically licensed for myeloma in the last 10 years.
Public awareness of myeloma is low: 90% of people in a recent survey didn't know what myeloma was.
Now that is really awesome.
