Express your originality in an awesome idea you had for an MSN emoticon with Photoshop's animation feature. Its not as difficult as it sounds, this can be done, depending on the complexity of the animation, in a couple of minutes.
However, to create an animated emoticon, you will need to know some of the basics of Photoshop, like how to use the text tool and how to duplicate layers.
If you need help animating an image, go to the following website:
http://www.psd.tutsplus.com/tutorials/tutorials-effects/how-to-animate-a-gif-...
The maximum size an emoticon can be in MSN is 48 by 48 pixels.
Here are the instructions in text:
Step 1:
Create a new image file with the dimensions 48 by 48 pixels and a background colour of white.
Step 2:
Zoom into the image, as it will be quite small in its original size. (Shortcut key: CTRL + for zooming in and CTRL - for zooming out)
Step 3:
Using the typing tool, type out 'LOL'.
Step 4:
Duplicated the 'LOL' type and change the duplicated text to a different colour.
Watch the video for the rest, can't be bothered to type it all out here.
Cheers,
