Democrats are liberal. There is nothing conservative about democrats or Obama. Bush is a liberal and so is the majority of the republican party.

As I said above, we can redefine things all day long but the conversation required popular terms in order to make it's point. This is about influencing the power structure in the government that exists today, not some pissing contest about the finer points of conservatism and liberalism.

1) The Democratic Party is not "liberal". It's socialist-statist. The Republican party is just plain fascist. Neither party is "liberal". Both are Statist-Collectivist.

2) "Liberal" and "Conservative" are not opposites on the continuum. They aren't even on the same axis.

The opposite of liberal is anti-liberal.

Conservative is center on the continuum between Regressive and Progressive.

We can sit here and spout political buzzwords all day but the mainstream political climate defines terms much differently than you are. Today, "conservative" and "liberal" are both defined by Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck and other mouthpieces that create public perception. We can redefine this discussion into oblivion but it won't really serve much purpose.

Obama wants to Tax the Upper Class,more! And Tax trailer trash less. Upper Class Republicans already pay 80% of this county's tax, and should not have to pay more. Republicans in the Upper class will end up paying to fund correctional institutes and prisons where trailer park families normally end up. Here's the catch: those trailer park families wont have to pay a penny for the sons or daughters in prison, Republicans probably on the otherside of the country will.

@Plisko1 Obama's "end justifies the means" approach to gaining his goals is too hard on the Constitution. If a person uses tactics to "get around" or circumvent law instead of changing the law they are not being honest. I have a hard time following someone who is not genuine, how can you trust them?
