Day With the Gliders Prt4 FINAL

Final piece of DWtG Prt1 - At the end of a long day these two are more than happy to chill and nap in the pocket - I do take advantage of this because at home they will then be more inclined to stay in one spot than roam around on me restlessly.

On my days off I sometimes come into work with my 'kids' Xeeva and Thony to provide a kind of 'stress therapy' for my co-workers. They love playing with the suggies and get plenty of laughs from their antics - especially when they go down someone's shirt. Their other purpose when I bring them in is to expose them to strangers and keep them stranger-friendly as well as teach people about these animals.

The one thing I usually do when I see someone become really mindset to get one themselves is I warn them that the bonding process is not an immediate procedure in results and takes time as well as their glider will not be as initially friendly and calm as mine are - it took a lot of work and dedication to get this far with them.

Anyways, this was filmed later in the afternoon after the kids have been out for a good 2-3 hours interacting with people and Thony was rather tired. He's my best 'demo boy' for their jumping capabilities because of his tendency to immediately want to jump right back to me and crawl into my shirt or pocket. Xeeva I find is better for folks to interact with these animals more personally. Note they aren't truly trained animals - my arm slapping is to grab his attention and tell him that I'm ready for him to jump. Thus is the beauty of having a bonded animal - no need for a choking leash or inhibiting harness for these guys! Just 8+ hours a day of bond-hangout time at home where they find their favorite spots on me and sleep while I do artwork.
