Yes, he is a daring musician, some don't like him. But thus some great renditions happened.

i have the Henle Urtext edition of this piece and there are single notes in the adagissimo also. This is because this movement is in figured bass, in other words, the performer is just given the outline of the melody and must fill in all the ornamentation themselves to make the music richer. My edition has at the bottom of the base line, little numbers that tell you what chord you're supposed to play (5, 6b, 7b, 6, 9...) So that's why Schiff is playing all those extra notes! hope that helps =)

I am confused about the adagissimo -- my edition (Breitkopf) has single notes in the beginning lines of this movement. However, Schiff plays chords and I have another edition that also has chords. Are there two versions? Which one is more authentic? Any help or insight would be appreciated!

I only listen, i'm sick of viewing his presomptuous face

haha, he was so young; but already so good!

You know who comes close? Murray Perahia. But Schiff is great as well.

Schiff is an absolute master when it comes to embellishments. I can't think of anyone who does it better. The Arioso section is a sublime example.

Schiff is like a fine wine, he just gets better and better.
