The Hedgehopper was DEFINITELY a British Buccaneer. They built them at Brough here in East Yorkshire, and the pub nearest the factory is called The Buccaneer in its honour, with various hedgehoppers mentions on the memoraibilia on the walls.
Rod Buckle & Jonathan King were involved in this recording I think????

Vaguely country music..

2009ironfighter's correct. They were RAF groundcrew serving at Wittering near Stamford. My parents knew them as 'Geordie' Honeyball lived near us. My Dad was also groundcrew at Wittering at the time.

just another version of "It's Good News Week"

These lads were all stationed at RAF Wittering a V Bomber base with Victa B2's of 100 & 139 Squadron. They were called hedgehoppers because that was the role of the B2's armed with the Blue Steel missile stand off bomb and anonymous because any one in the armed forces was supposed not to have a civilian occupation - ie rock star.

They were in the not in the USAF. as you claim [shame on you]. They were in the RAF. The name 'Hedgehoppers' came from new role of the Buccaneer aircraft. This was originally a Royal Navy plane and the RAF were converting it for a low flying role in order to get under the enemy radar. The RAF has always referred to low flying as 'hedgehopping'.
