Red Herring was a Brisbane band formed in 1978 / 79 and this was the only single released. Glen Muirhead wrote the song and played keyboards, Mick Donnelly was on the speedy phrygian guitar, Peter (Willy) Willersdorf played a lot of octaves on bass, Laurie Ernst thumped the drums, Eddie Thompson blew some sax for the session, and Mick (quick talker) Walker delivered the vocals and fell through space beautifully ... (this was to become a trademark of Mick's - see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXo9cn_fgUY ) Two of the members, Mick W. and Glen went on to form another band - Solid Citizens.
The video cost absolutely bugger all to make (well duh) but was a whole lot of fun - sorry about the audio quality, but its taken from an old mono video tape thats seen better times.
I think I'll need some help with any other details...
I do however have a vague memory of promoting it on a late night local talk show with Izzy Dye ... Yikes
I am dedicating its re-emergence to Charlie Sheen.
