A tribute to the late and great Luther Vandross...one of my favorite ole songs...and some of my favorite things. I wish I had more photos of family members in my files, and I may have to reupload this at some point.
A tribute to my mom for always trying to provide us with our favorite things...she sewed many an hour on pretty dresses with sashes.
My favorite people in this video are my daughters, Charisse and Sarah, my granddaughters, Allie and Carlee and dad, Todd. My mother and my sister, Amy....and, the handsome guy, Tazz, the dog...
The farmers market images are where my daughter, Sarah works in Oregon...all the yummy organic veggies..
There are many things included in this that I love, but there are many more favorite people and things that I hold dear..
We use to have a cream colored Welsh pony, named Honey Dapple.
Luther Ronzoni Vandross (April 20, 1951 July 1, 2005) was an American R&B and soul singer-songwriter, and record producer. During his career, Vandross sold over twenty-five million albums[1] and won eight Grammy Awards[2] including Best Male R&B Vocal Performance four times. He won four Grammy Awards in 2004 including the Grammy Award for Song of the Year for the track "Dance with My Father",[3] co-written with Richard Marx.
LYRICS:
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things
Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels
Door bells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into Springs
These are a few of my favorite things
When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad.
Most of the images are from flickr.com and toget.ru.
Other photos by my daughters, Charisse and Sarah and me.
~cjthemusicman~...his quick wit and words of wisdom are gifts to us all...I am thankful that this gave you words to paint another masterpiece..
So many of us enjoy those favourite things
comfort, friendship and memories they bring
we can all recall our first bee sting
friends arriving - the door bell as it rings
the sounds of Nature as She sings
bright butterflies and birds on the wing
remembrances when the heart is aching
but new memories are always in the making
as Autumn leaves fall that need raking
new memories call to us for the taking.
What a great groove on one of my all time fave songs, done up nicely of course by Ms.Sherry! This belongs under the tree!
