His main argument is that conservatism is a greater threat to the US and individual liberty, because of how much Bush was spending at the time of this interview (2006) Yet Obama has spent more in two years than Bush did in all eight. (and that's with the Iraq war practically, already won by the time Obama took over) So he was clearly, just, wrong.
This was uploaded in 2009, but it sure sounds like he's talking about Bush's 2nd term. He says Bush, at the time representing conservatives, was more a threat to liberty than the left. Now (in August 2011) if he's using the same rationale he must conclude that the most Liberal president ever—Barack Obama—is a colossal threat to liberty! c. 6:30 Sullivan says "it would be hard to spend more"!!!!
The problem in discussing liberal and conservative is that both categories are too broad. A Catholic monarchist is probably about as conservative as you can get, but in modern discourse a libertarian businessman or a survivalist in the woods are also conservatives. Similarly, most would see a radical lesbian commune as a left-wing hive, but Hillary Clinton (and the multitudinous Kennedys) and her (their) stock portfolio are "liberal," too. I feel we should speak of issues, not categories.
Funny how he says "it would be hard to spend more." Obama outdid bush handily in the area of spending. Wow. He clearly did not know what was coming his way. And he is a sellout for endorsing Obama.
Where is his radio show?
