@CarlD2 Yeah, Austen was really one of the top villians of all time. Especially after seeing these scenes with he and Sarah. He's pretending to go blind, she pretty much doesn't believe him but doesn't WANT to think he would make it up. He's trying to convince her Bo's a killer and she's like "uh, yeah". He's CONVINCED she's falling right into his plan when she's CLEARLY NOT... Seriously chilling!
@CarlD2 I TOTALLY remember that Carl! i always wondered if they fired her BECAUSE of the interview. I always thought it was weird that she just started the show & even GOT in SOD, then showed the relationship... then fired. Mari Lynn had a lot of story to me. I thought of her as the STUNT character because PR liked stunts and she was ALWAYS in peril... She shot her mother, got in car accidents, jumped off a bridge.
@shrinefilms1 It seemed like they struggled on what to do with Mari Lynn. Tom was long gone by this time, no interaction with her family, Lee dead, so she just hung out with her soap co-stars? I guess Wade was still around too. I wish they'd figured out what to do with her.
I also wish they'd kept Audrey around. She was interviewed in SOD about her interracial relationship with Giancarlo Esposito. At the end of the interview they added that she'd been fired. I wonder if ABC got scared.
@shrinefilms1 That's true. This story does seem to cast a pall, and goes on for quite a while. The pacing is better than I expected, as we see the layers unfolding of the dangerous car, Gabrielle wanting to stop, Alicia saying no, etc. The pacing with the repulsive Austin is also better than I thought, as it's quite obvious from early on what he wants to do and how scared Sarah is of him.
Thank you VICK for all this! Such a good build up! "Cult of Personality" AND another Cord fight! His fights were hilarious because he ALWAYS is the instigator of them! Lol! He always speaks first and throws the first punch! haha DON'T get mouthy with Cord.
@CarlD2 I remember all these characters. I forgot the guy Blade was a bad guy... then dropped. I felt THESE were the last cohesive characters then they really started hitting the windshield. I thought Cord and Audrey had chemistry. Mari Lynn was basically the "Jessica" of the show which makes it really wired the writers didn't seem to realize her blood relation to Kev/Joey.
This was about the 3rd year for PR so i assume there was MUCH network interference with his outlines/ex. 1st 15 secs!
@CarlD2 You make a good point Carl. Whenever Paul Ruasch went really deep with the story he could put a mood over the show. I remember Jessica's kidnapping it seemed like there was a somber mood over EVERY scene. Even ones that didn't directly relate.
Wow, the first 15 seconds of this are STILL a nightmare for me. I'm okay, though. I remember the pain and confusion... thinking why is yesterdays episode suddenly a deeply blue ABC standard background? Is the world really a better place NOT seeing Tina and Michael Grande get into a car accident? No, I don't think so.
Do you have the Alicia&Gabrielle scenes before this?
