@gamefreak1000000 There are a lot of reasons; usually it is because of the hardware resolution. the DS can handle more colors and textures on the screen at once than the GBA. Additionally, when a game is remade, certain areas are changed to comply with the standards of other games in the series. Also, due to advancements in hardware and coding, areas are changed to look more like how the artist envisioned the level. The Unknown Dungeon was never in Gold/Silver, so this was remade from scratch.

@zephite That. and the fact that the cave is more "purple'ish" in the newer one than the cave in this game. Just look at it in a side by side comparison and you'll understand what I mean.

@gamefreak1000000 SoulSilver was paired with HeartGold and both were released at the same time, just like FireRed and LeafGreen were.
