dude you can ditch the full length guide rod alltogether for any of your top 1911's and u still have a kick ass combat piece... JOHN BROWNING designed it with a short guide rod for the very reasons that u hate about the longer guide rod ha ha ha ha, sometimes if it aint broke dont fix it.. is a true proverb... in this case the truth is in the details and u already know it so make your adjustments and carry on STAFF SGT. CALHOUN U.S.M.C OUT!.....

First of all, great job on the video. I am wondering if you can help me. I have a loaded champion 4" stainless and am wanting to put a full length guide rod or something other than the stock spring system. I hate having to use a tool to hold the spring on when i clean my weapon. Have any suggestions?

@Blemo23 Dude, trijicon makes tritium night sights for handguns. I have them on my Glock

Lol u say Trijicon instead of Tritium. :P The moment you said Trijicon, I immediately started looking for ACOG's in the vid. :P
Overall, nice vid tho. I'm still warming up to the whole guide rod/bushing aspect of the 1911.

Springfield makes the best 1911 pistols for the money, as far as modifications 1911 fans always tweak their pistols to their liking. But the bottom line is the pistol design is over 100 years old and yet its still one of the most popular pistols sold worldwide that says alot. It's a acurate. Reliable man stopping piece of steel.. a real Man's gun ..... Semper-fi

excellent point on the bushing! Why does springfield manufacture that way? I differ on the extended guide rod however, i love them. beautiful gun though

Beautiful finish on your Springfield Loaded Target 1911! @_@ Beautiful! I totally agree with you switching from a two-piece guide rod to a one-piece full-length guide rod that does not require tools (ex. an Allen wrench or a paper clip) to disassemble. That gives me more peace of mind.
Thanks for sharing man! :)
How do i get the ambi saftey off of my Loaded so i can disasemble the internals and take the hammer out??

@usmc100sniper unscrew the grip off the right side of the gun. that is the left hand safty side and it will slip out, you may have to work with it. The right hand safty will just come out same as any half way between the detents and pull.

I just bought the exact same sa 1911. I hate the two piece future rod too. What is the alternative replacement part you used? I can't believe they used an guide rod that you need an allen wrench for? The gun was still too cool to pass up.

@thenowandaway Any other guide rod will work. If you use a standard/short rod you will need a plunger also. Any other full length rod setup will come as a package kit.
