Taylor from the Unique Squared video production team walks us through the Tascam DR-07 MkII. He takes it out to a local pub to test out it's record-ability. See what else Taylor has to say about the Tascam DR-07 MkII on our blog:

  • Can you slow a tune down while maintaining the same pitch so that you can copy a riff?

  • @mjazzguitar Yes, it does have a phrase trainer feature.

  • Bought it online from B&H ( New York) and this mic is AWESOME - for practically half the price of the H4n you have an amazing recording quality - Used as a external mic for my Canon HFS20 it pairs unexpectedly with the camcorder giving fantastic audio.

  • @geoffayl pumped up kicks by foster the people

  • I have two questions. 1) Can it be used as a USB mic straight to the computer to record the signal with computer software? 2) How many times can you combine (overlay) tracks? Can you just combine two? Or can you take that combined track and mix it with a third recorded track and so on...as many times as you want?

  • What's the name of the song at 0:40 ? Can anyone tell me please

  • @youknowlahTV Yes you can monitor the audio you are recording, with headphones, from the line out port.

  • Hi I have a question, with the line out port, could we put on a pair of headphones and listen to the actual recording in real time as it is being recorded? Just clarifying if that is indeed the function of line out.

Reason is that I would like to identify immediately if the right sounds are captured and nothing extra comes in, etc. Thanks!

  • Dear diddy or Unique... I am a DJ as my hobby, id like to know if you suggest the 07mkII for the DJ-800 Pioneer mixer using the booth out into this device for a near best quality recording of my DJ sets (obviously at 24bit). Please also specify would i need to get a higher GB memory card for a 2-3 hour DJ session at 24bit? If so what is your suggestion? and would the batteries last 3 hours at this bit range. thank you

  • @diddyhayes yes it is
