Vergil combos in umvc3:

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is a pretty crazy experience. Started to experiment more with Vergil on point to see what the guy is capable of utilizing the suave as shit assists and synergy. I must say that less of it seems to have synergy than it could with other members as the team. But god damn it does it look flashy and fun. And that's really what it is all about right?

Still experimenting with spiral swords to make more practical and less situational/difficult sword loops for all of us scrubs out there. Any questions? don't hesitate to comment or message me about them.

Combo Notation (upon request):

1) L, M, H, f+H xx DP+L~H, sj.M, j.H, j.down+H, wesker otg, [c.H xx DP+M]x2, ]down+forward+H~H xx maximum vergil]x2

  • wtf is the timing on the otg to super....i cant get it to cancel to save my moms life

  • @travonw it is the same as the timing for the teleport follow up to the otg high time. Think of it as cancelling the teleport follow up into the super, but instead of having to hit H and then super, you can do one easy motion. After the OTG attack input qcf+L+M+H and almost 100% you will be able to follow up with the super.

  • Vergil/Dante need a new level one when they're both on the same team where they use jackpot...

  • @Pylfer would be pretty sick huh? I think that character specific crossover combinations could have been really cool, but it makes it hard to balance and could give certain teams that don't have synergy a hole to fill. But as a novelty, it would have been awesome

  • @CrossCounta hmm ima need to try that out thanks! i decided to change my R1 button to L and i put L2 as my 2nd assist button, and its been working out so far when i've tried to do some combos that require me to throw the sword. I'll check that out thanks again.

  • @Dwish305 oh trust me, its not going to get in your way. You can let go of the button at anytime it won't cancel and do whatever you need to do. The way we use round trip in combos is different from all the other times. Only hold it when you need it during combos, but lets say you have it charged up and happen to land a c.M. You want to combo into your dp+L but you are already holding L. Just chain into H and f+H as normal, inbetween H and f+H (before it hits) let go of L, then combo as normal.

  • @unv3 as if he needed more shit, check out my vergil combos vol. 2 vid for some other footage of the twins working together to accomplish stupid stuff haha.

  • @LeanandTipsy666 yea but the thing is that the button might interfere with a combo that you are doing if you try to go back to that button.

    for example: if i have L for R2 (ps3) and im holding it, when i get into the corner to do the light version of dimension slash, i won't be able to do it b/c i am already holding L down. You can start holding another button so the charge won't go away like triangle (M) but its hard to do it in pad since your thumb has to press 2 buttons.

  • @LeanandTipsy666 lol innovative i guess, button mapping is always key to playing pad. When i used to play cody on pad in ssf4 i always used R1 for a zonk knuckle for that specific reason. For sf it was a little more understandable to forgo a heavy attack button during footsies.
