Purple Power review

When used for stripping paint and chrome off model car parts. Officially a bit slower with chrome but just as fast on paint. And I forgot to mention in the video that it did not etch the plastic at all. So probably just like Castrol Super Clean, it can be used also for clear parts and rubber and vinyl. Good stuff.

Thanks for the review. I use regular laundry bleach to strip my chrome parts. It strips most parts within a couple of minutes. I still need to find a good lacquer stripper. Do you think the Purple Power work on lacquer that has been on the model for about a year? I was thinking of trying DOT-3 Brake Fluid.

@pturley84 Lacquer is neat when it comes off. It slides off in one piece like a decal. Yea, it works with CSC, it should work with this. Why I use stuff like CSC is because I can leave it in the vat all set to go year round. I put everything from model parts to weedeater carbs in there. Brake fluid makes me sick every time I use it. But if you're ok with it, it works good. Oven cleaner is like instant clean but a mess.

@Toppervision1 Ok so I found some Mean Green all purpose cleaner and degreaser underneath the sink and I tried it on my model. I let it soak for 24 hours and it takes the lacqure paint right off the model. Your right, it does look really cool when it comes off. I got the Mean green from the dollar store lol.

@pturley84 Great! That's a new discovery then. Thanks for the info on it. At some point test clear and vinyl and rubber parts to see if it damages them. If it doesn't, that might be an even cheaper all-around stripper. (I imagine it was a dollar.) I'll refill the vat with that stuff next time. But that'll be like a year from now.

@TheShogun93 It definately dissolves oil, but why is there oil in your exhaust? And why would it not just burn off?

Cool video I use coke to strip chrome works good but need to use something to get coating off. Not had the joy of stripping paint yet but sure it will come.

if this is reallyt close to castrol degreaser its awesime i use the castrol stuff for removing annodzing
