Reilly, Ace of Spies is a 1983 television miniseries, written by Troy Kennedy Martin, and based on the 1967 book Ace of Spies by Robin Bruce Lockhart. Sam Neill stars as Sidney Reilly. The theme music is the Romance movement from Dmitri Shostakovich's The Gadfly Suite.

  • Reilly has to be one of the most fascinating men I've read about. "The Ace of Spies" is a wonderful documentation of his life.

  • @xr6lad yes, it was Leo McKern who played Rumpole of the Bailey and Basil Zaharoff in this one

  • @Giuelith wasn't the claim as a double agent made clear in the series.... his British employers suspected he was a double agent for the Russians, or were working with him to play the role of double agent ??
