School was out, but the doctors were in as "organized chaos" reigned at Weymouth High School Saturday.
Cots, stretchers, medics, ambulances, hospital personnel and 'flu patients' filled the halls, gymnasium and cafeteria for South Shore Hospital's first Avian Flu Pandemic Preparedness Drill.
More than a hundred volunteer doctors, nurses, EMTs and mock patients transformed the school into a live-action test site of the Influenza Specialty Care Unit.
In the case of a pandemic outbreak of the flu virus, the unit would be set-up at the high school to help with the hospital's expected overflow of patients.
