this song is soul destroying

For me, nothing has changed in 30 years...now, as then, this is the most desolate recording I ever heard. Only JD's skeleton-like demo of 'In A Lonely Place' comes close. Gratitude, gmtx...

Even more haunting and desolate than the album version, just imagine what they would have been like with Curtis still. God, it makes me so sad sometimes when i think of what could've been, even though i love New Order...

@djh29971 I've heard that Barney is an ass about releasing demos and alternate takes, Peel sessions, etc. Some of my favorite N O tracks are Peel Sessions and yet they were all left off of the box set. Thank God for bootlegs.

@djh29971 stick to drumming steve !!! sounds they completely cut off his low range, new orders ONLY good album as they were gifted the subject matter (ians death)
-
i remeber this demo ...Ian is dead......not in my heart not in my mind...

I sped the tempo up by about 6 percent, and the effect gives a song much closer to the album but with Morris' vocals.
I've been waiting years to hear this. Vocals by Steve, who was said to have the best voice out of the three... The Western Works demo should of ideally been on the re-issue of 'Movement', but maybe they is copyright issues with these tracks. Who owns them?

@djh29971 I think it's probably less to do with copyright issues and more to do with the band not wanting to release them or not really caring if they don't get released. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if they'd forgotten they exist completely, Mr Sumner & Mr Hook are notorious for getting dates wrong and getting stuff mixed up etc
