Track 6.

Slavestate EP (1991):

Two years after the breakthrough album Streetcleaner, the band released a 4 song ep titled Slavestate. This ended up being released in 3 different formats, the 4 song ep, a 3 song remix ep and a 9 song mini lp. Originally it was supposed to be released as 2 separate ep's on cd, but Earache didn't go for that. Listed below is the 9 track mini lp. The other releases are in the EP section. Best known for the Techno influenced sound, a large number of Godflesh fans were disappointed. The band's fan base was dramatically changed due to this record.

  • @solidstatemind godflesh were never grindcore!

  • Hahaha! Is that Sonja in the picture. Wonder if it tasted like chicken! OOOHHHHHhahahaha!!!

  • Thanks, Sonja.

  • ....... and one night it was eaten by the rat that shared it's room. Why was there no cover on that rat box?? It was the Slavestate bird for christ's sake!!!!! Only the wings and the beak were left behind :(

  • I just need to say, when I lived in Buffalo, I had a parakeet that lived for this friggin song! Everytime you hear a slightly resemblance to a chirp.. this bird would go nuts!

  • fuqqin' LUV it, man.... this shit definitely helped me maintain some semblance of sanity wAAAy baq in high school & indeed it iz still every bit az brilliant & qyq-arse az it wuz baq in the day. love the whole slavestate album! thanx so much fer the post.

  • I actually thought this EP was a brilliant move for Godflesh as musicians: it demonstrated that they were capable of so much more than just grindcore. Perfect Skin (dub) really broke the ground that allowed for Pure II and their other more experimental pieces.

To this day, SlaveState is one of my favorites.

  • I love this!!!
