Now that you mention it, I guess if you shorten the length of the bolt body too much you would also change the relationship between the cocking piece and the trigger sear. Therefore the sear might not catch the cocking piece and hold it until the trigger was pressed.

Forgive me for asking. Did you check to see if the firing pin hole was concentric with the bolt body as you had done in a prior video? Also did you cut the notch in the back end of the bolt body for the cocking piece?

The bolt was made by Pacific Precision. I have checked b/4 and the firing pin hole is concentric to the bolt body. Yes, re-cut the notch for the cocking piece. I also tested the set up with a new Remington trigger to see if things worked ok.
